CERVICAL SMEAR appointments
Smears are booked with our Well Woman-trained nurses, not GPs, so cannot currently be booked using the on-line service - you will need to telephone to make an appointment. Our aplogies for this We are looking into how we can make nurse appointments available on-line but, because the time required for the different activities they undertake varies, this is presenting some challenges currently.
If you spend time caring for a family member or somebody else - please let Reception know. See Information for Carers tab on the right for more info

Do you want to lose weight and keep it off?
This supportive, practical group is open to all men in the Alton area.
We meet every Wednesday evening from 6.30pm* to 7.30pm at Alton Health Centre in Anstey Road, Alton. (New registrations at 6:20pm).
The Health Centre doors close at 6:30pm - so if you cannot get in - please come to the rear door and ring the bell.
Although originally set up about 10 years ago by the Wilson Practice Patient Participation Group it is supported by all the local GP Practices in the area and over the years has helped many men to lose anything from a few pounds to several stones.
Excess weight and obesity becoming a national epidemic but the links between excess weight and serious diseases such as heart attacks, strokes, diabetes and joint problems are clear.
The Weight Loss Group offers individual support and guidance on many aspects of healthy eating and the importance of regular exercise. With weekly weigh-ins and regular talks on health and fitness related subjects there is something for all local men wishing to lose some weight for whatever reason.
So, don’t be shy, come along on Wednesday evenings and shed those excess pounds in the company of like-minded men.
